Massage Therapist

Alicia K. Mutch, massage therapist and hypnotherapistAlicia has been a certified massage therapist since April of 2000, and she has been Board Certified in Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (BCTMB) since June of 2000. She acquired her massage therapy credentials in a rigorous and thorough 1000-hour program from Seattle’s Brian Utting School of Massage, which is now the Cortiva Institute. She specializes in deep tissue and orthopedic (injury treatment) massage as well as Swedish, neuromuscular technique, and sports massage. She also has obtained specialized credentials in pregnancy and postpartum massage therapy from Kate Jordan Seminars in 2001 as well as Body Therapy Education in 2011. She is a professional member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) and is credentialed as a Certified Massage Therapist (CMT) in the state of California (Certificate # 4556).

Hypnotherapist and HypnoBirthing® Childbirth Educator

Alicia is a Certified Hypnotherapist (CHt) with the state of California. She received her original hypnotherapist training in 1998 from the Institute for Therapeutic Learning in Seattle, and she received additional hypnotherapy training in the Transformational Healing Method from the Center for Healing and Transformation in Oakland in 2005. She acquired her master hypnotist certificate from the Hypnotherapy Training Institute in Corte Madera in September of 2010. She is certified by the American Council of Hypnotist Examiners as well as the National Guild of Hypnotists. She has been an Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) practitioner since 1998. She is affiliated with the HypnoBirthing® Institute as a Certified HypnoBirthing® Childbirth Educator (HBCE) and has been teaching HypnoBirthing® childbirth classes since 2000. She birthed her own HypnoBirthing® baby in May of 2013, and can attest to how truly amazing and gentle birth can be.

Even More About Alicia

Alicia has a bachelor’s degree in English from UC Davis, with minors in Environmental Policy Analysis and Planning as well as Rhetoric and Communication. After college, she spent a few years as a chiropractic assistant, which led her into the holistic medical field. In April of 2000, she trained as a doula (birth assistant) at the Seattle Midwifery School. While not currently practicing as a doula, she has attended many births of her HypnoBirthing® students, which continue to inspire her to this day. She is meticulous and professional in her work, and loves what she does.
